Mass Meeting at First Baptist Church

Prince Edward NAACP and Moton Museum present 65th Anniversary of the U. S.  Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education, in which Prince Edward County was one of the five jurisdictions involved in said case; and the 60th Anniversary of closing of public education in Prince Edward County, where schools stayed closed for five years; and the 55th Anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court Decision in Griffin vs. County School Board of Prince Edward County wherein the court ruled that if public education was not provided in Prince Edward County, then public education could not be provided anywhere in the Commonwealth of Virginia, which led to the reopening of public education in Prince Edward. This is a three day event starting with a Mass Meeting on March 23 at First Baptist Church with Speakers and Music provided by the New Bethel Community Male Chorus and followed by a Public Reception in the L. Francis Griffin Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, located at Main and Fourth Streets in Farmville, VA.
